Born and raised in the Midwest, Mr. Schuetze acquired his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Cornell College in 1977, and his law degree from the University of Iowa in 1982. He was awarded the Exchange Scholarship between the University of Iowa and the University of Tübingen, studied law in Germany at the University of Tübingen, and worked in the law department of the Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt, Germany. In 1990, Chuck obtained his master’s degree in taxation from the University of Miami, with a master’s thesis on family deferred payment sales transactions. Mr. Schuetze began private practice in Anchorage, Alaska in 1984, working in business and financial transactions, income taxation and estate planning. He participated in drafting the Alaska Limited Liability Company statute and testified before the legislature in its behalf. Mr. Schuetze has spoken at many seminars on business and estate planning. Mr. Schuetze has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Corporate Law and Tax Law for the years 2013 and 2014, and was named Anchorage Lawyer of the Year in 2013 in Corporate Law.
